Kayaking the Beresford Lagoon
Meet your small group (max 10) at the Beresford beach with your guides who will give a necessary water security briefing and make sure everyone is comfortable with their kayaks and gear which are included in the tour. Learn basic kayaking techniques and set off in the lagoon, discovering many bird species, native plants and maybe spotting our endemic Maritime Ringlet butterfly. The guides will help you appreciate the importance of precious lagoon ecosystem. Venture up in twisted waterways otherwise inaccessible by foot.
Enjoy a healthy snack or lunch in a quiet nature setting and pick your guide’s brain about the first settlers here and their relations with the first nation people living off this land for thousands of years before. You are more than welcome to also inquire about Acadian culture, then and now.
What you get: Kayak and gear, 1-2 guide depending on group size (4-10), historical and wildlife interpretation, healthy lunch in nature, lots of photo opportunities, new acquired kayaking skills.
